It is very important that trailers are serviced regularly for both your own and other road users safety. It will also prolong the life of most mechanical parts and in the long run it saves you time and money. A well looked after, and well maintained Ifor Williams trailer will always have a strong resale value.

All our mechanics have got lots of experience and are fully trained to deal with any of your needs, wether it’s a straight forward service, minor alteration or a major repair, we have the resources to get work done.
J & C Griffiths holds a vast amount of trailer spares, so most trailer repairs can be done swiftly & prompt. If for some reason we don’t have a part on the shelf to complete the job, we can organise a courtesy trailer* to keep the customer going.

Service includes checking of the following: Brakes, Bearings, Lights, Jockey Wheel, Over-run Unit, Re-torquing of nuts, Tyres, All moving mechanical parts.
We are happy to provide a cost price to the customer for the work needed before hand, if required.

Frequency of Servicing:

This very much depends on the frequency of usage, but an outline guide could be as follows:
 

•  Daily or before each journey - certain checks are essential for safety and are the responsibility of the trailer operator.
•  After the first 600 miles / 1000km - essential for new trailers or if new brake linings and/or bowden cables are fitted. 
•  Every 3000 miles / 5000km - three monthly for commercial trailers with intensive usage. 
•  Every 6000 miles / 10,000kms - annually for trailers that have a light usage. Six monthly for commercial trailers - based on "average" use.
